Rothorn Railway
The Brienz Rothorn Railway has been carrying passengers to the Brienzer Rothorn since 1892. By the way, the Brienz Rothorn Railway is the only Swiss rack railway with daily steam operation. The nostalgic ascent takes about an hour and takes you across meadows, through forests and past imposing rock faces. On the way you will discover grazing cows and with a little luck even chamois or ibex. At the top, a breath-taking panorama of the turquoise Lake of Brienz, colourful flowers and an impressive mountain backdrop awaits you!
